Founded in 1986, the school occupies a modern, one-storey building at the heart of a new housing estate. Facilities include a large playing field and a conservation area. Extra-curricular activities include music and sport; teams have achieved particular success in rugby, football and netball. There is a school orchestra, choir, woodwind ensemble, and a range of peripatetic teachers. Many children are involved in the county orchestra, choir and ensembles.
